Update On My 2018 Resolutions / Intentionality In My Diet

11:16:00 PM

Hey Y'all! I hope this post finds you well and that your Monday was a little less hectic than mine! I'm just getting home for the day at 9:00 pm and I am ready to throw in the towel and crawl in my big bed! But, before I do that I wanted to stop in and catch you up a bit on some of my New Year's Resolutions

You're probably thinking "It's only been two months, how much is there to update?" Well, have you given up on yours yet? Or thought about it?.... Exactly. So, my main goals were to sleep more, take charge of my health and my relationship to money. But, I also really wanted to start paying more attention to what I was eating and drinking.

SLEEP: Until this week, I'm proud to say I have been doing much better with sleeping. I've been making it a point to get in bed before midnight. (Previously I was going to sleep at 1 or 2 and getting up for work at 6 or 7). I've had to sacrifice a little bit of my "me" time. But, that has just caused me to spend the bit that I get more wisely.

EXERCISE:  I'm not going to lie, guys. I've completely fallen off the grid here. I am hoping to get back into it this week. I have however, been playing outdoor with the kids more, so I'm not completely inactive.

MONEY: My money goals have fallen a little bit on the middle of the spectrum. I'm not doing horribly. But I could be doing better. I talked about it in a recent post which you can find HERE.

TRAVEL: This one hasn't had a chance to come to fruition yet... check back in the Summer.

NUTRITION: Being intentional about what I eat and drink was another big goal. I haven't been 100% successful with Mardi Gras and Valentine's day being right on top of each other. Let's just say that February has been a month of sugar. But, I have been getting better at paying attention to where my meat, eggs and dairy are coming from. I've been trying my best to stick to organic and pasture raised products.

It's been getting easier and easier to find organic and healthy items at the grocery store, but trying to find foods from farms that treat their animals with care, not so much. However, I have noticed recently that Wal Mart is stepping up their game a bit. I've been able to find a handful of pasture raised items, including this Horizon Organic Grassfed Milk! I know I don't have to sell any of you on Horizon, I think most of us mom's are already fans. But, I love that I can now get something like this without having to go to a specialty store and paying a million bucks.

As an aside, after I found out about this, I was doing a little research. And I saw there was a review on the site saying this was the best milk they've ever tasted. I honestly chuckled a little bit, because it's milk... like how good can it be?! But, then I tasted it .... and it actually is really delicious!

You should check it out the next time you're at Wal Mart and head HERE for a $1 Ibotta Rebate!

So now, it's your turn! Let me know how you're doing on your Resolutions!
